About me

I fell in love with embroidery during the years I spent working for renowned bridal couturier Phillipa Lepley. I started as an intern, and worked my way up to the role of ‘Head of Embellishment’ (which is exactly as dreamy as it sounds.).

Embroidery is my way of painting. I love it because it allows me to build up intricate pictures through tiny stitches, literally weaving stories into garments. It is art that can’t be rushed and takes love and care to create. Go into the V&A museum and you will see that no garment has been embroidered without meaning, thought and patience (which fortunately I have in abundance, except when I’m waiting for my banana bread to finish baking).

After years of working in fast-paced London I started to feel Suffolk pulling on my heart strings. I grew up here and am a real homebody by nature. I missed my countryside surroundings, the slower pace of rural life, popping into my family home for a cuppa and seeing how the Sweet Peas are coming along in Dad’s greenhouse.

Moving here has opened up opportunities I never even considered, from creating incredible photoshoots with local wedding suppliers, to teaching embroidery classes, and even playing Cinderella in the Panto (yes I loved every second and no I didn’t want to give the gown back!)

I have taken my city learning to my own garden studio and have the best of both worlds, mindfully crafting with the artisan techniques I’ve spent my career refining. My days are spent sketching flowers, researching shells, figuring out how to turn my pencil lines into delicate stitches. Minutes turn into hours and I can get completely lost in my work, only emerging when my stomach tells me it’s time for tea.

Bringing romantic brides into my world of mindful craftsmanship is a joy for me, and I invite you to get in touch to start your own bespoke design journey.
